This is an excellent book on the rosary. The book starts off with some questions that are commonly asked about praying the rosary. Some of the questions are, why do catholics pray to Mary, isn't the rosary vain repitition, what is the purpose of the mysteries, and there are a few other questions as well. The book then goes into ten practical insights for greater devotion these are practical ways to better meditate on the mysteries. In the next section there are scriptural reflections on all twenty mysteries,These help to give us a deeper understanding of each mystery . Also there is an excellent scriptural rosary that contains a verse for meditation on each of the Hail Marys that are prayed. The end of the book contains Pope John Paul II Apostolic letter on the rosary. This book will help you to pray more deeply this powerful prayer.

If you were Catholic, then you would understand that we do not "worship" anyone but the Holy Trinity. "Hail Mary" is the greeting that Gabriel the Archangel said to Mary when he approached her. In other words, "Hello Mary" Filled with Grace, The Lord is with you (Jesus) Blessed are you among women (BECAUSE GOD CHOSE HER SPECIFICALLY) and Blessed is the fruit of your womb. Mary said yes to God. Have you? We don't worship her, we honor her - (as that is the 5th Commandment) We pray to Mary and the Saints to ask for help. Just as you would ask a living person to "pray for you", we ask our spiritual loved ones to also pray for us because we are not only flesh and blood, but spirit as well. Christ himself taught that we should put love above all else, not judge others. Remember, the last words that Jesus said to John were, "She is now (your) mother, and he is now (your) son. Mary is the mother of the Christian church and we are her children.
Peace and an abundance of Blessings to you!

A must have for those looking to deepen their appreciation of the Rosary prayer. Edward Sri's commentary supported by Biblical texts encourages deeper understanding of the mysteries and opens new avenues for mediation. Thoroughly recommended.
